I love language. I enjoy learning about them and the things that make them unique. The words we choose to express ourselves are important and I don't think that people truly appreciate just how powerful words are and how important it is to choose the words that carry the intended connotation and truly appreciate the nuance of language and its usage.

That being said, I wanted to have a place to store quotes from people that I found particularly interesting or moving or funny, whatever. Some interesting things I have found along the way, presented without commentary (for now, I might change my mind later and add thoughts)

We do not really want a religion that is right where we are right. What we want is a religion that is right where we are wrong. We do not want, as the newspapers say, a church that will move with the world. We want a church that will move the world.

-- G. K. Chesterton Charles Dickens: A Critical Study

Quote

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

-- Albert Einstein

Quote

Since the stars have fallen from heaven and our highest symbols have paled, a secret unrest gnaws at the roots of our being.

-- Carl Jung

Quote

Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible. Care more than others think wise.

-- Howard Schulz

It is a sin to be silent when it is your duty to protest.

Abraham Lincoln
