Scaffolding is the process of providing temporary, just-in-time support to help a learner complete a task they couldn't do on their own. The concept was developed by psychologist Lev Vygotsky, who called this sweet spot of learning the ZPD which describes the space between what a student can do independently and what they can achieve with guidance.
