In the original Zettelkasten method, atomic notes were recorded on index cards that were numbered and ordered together in a heirarchy of knowledge that could be easily referenced. The Slipbox was simply the housing unit of the system. I refer to my root folder of the vault as my slipbox as it is the dumping ground for most of my notes and I catalog and navigate through the files using the Graph View and Backlinks
